As the photo above attests, I have concluded 5 weeks of radiation therapy at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. That's going every day, Monday through Friday. Also, on Monday of last week I had an outpatient surgical procedure known as an HDR Needle Placement. If you're curious, you can google it to see what's involved, but briefly it's the insertion of 21 plastic needles through the perineum (the space between the "wazoo" and the "ying-yang") into the prostate gland, and once they're placed, shooting a lot more radiation into the gland than the amount I received in Radiation Oncology those five weeks. The procedure itself "went well", but the removal of all those wires and needles was a bit traumatic in that it was done while I was awake, and it seemed as if the doctor removed them by taking a running start.
