Medical Update
As the photo above attests, I have concluded 5 weeks of radiation therapy at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. That's going every day, Monday through Friday.
Also, on Monday of last week I had an outpatient surgical procedure known as an HDR Needle Placement. If you're curious, you can google it to see what's involved, but briefly it's the insertion of 21 plastic needles through the perineum (the space between the "wazoo" and the "ying-yang") into the prostate gland, and once they're placed, shooting a lot more radiation into the gland than the amount I received in Radiation Oncology those five weeks. The procedure itself "went well", but the removal of all those wires and needles was a bit traumatic in that it was done while I was awake, and it seemed as if the doctor removed them by taking a running start.
Presently, I am doing fine - a bit tired, but fine - although today is the first day I have felt like sitting in front of my computer to write this blog entry.
Dondra and I are looking forward to Christmas and seeing our grandson Julian, his wife Sara, and, of course, little Christopher. His stocking is hanging from the fireplace ready for "Santa". This will more than likely be my last entry before the holiday, so on behalf of Dondra and the rest of our little family, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
