Dementia Update on Me

Click on the title of the entry to learn more, but the meds just aren't doing "the job", and I am tired of being a burden on D, so when I go to see my "shrink" this Friday, I'm just going to ask him to admit me somewhere so I can get some intensive Cognitive Behavorial Therapy.

I hate this about myself, and I hate being a burden on my wife and family, so this will be a "last gasp" effort to get "The German Boy" back on track, so to speak.

I'm bereft.

EVERYTHING has been taken away.

It's all gone.

You have D. You have your friends and family. You have yourself: a kind, literate, music-loving, intelligent human being.

Do all you can to fix what isn't working right while being more patient with yourself.

When you hit the right combination of meds/theraphy to rid yourself of this depression, you'll be back in full force-- but wiser, in that you'll be thankful for what you have.

Hugs,
Margaret

P.S. Sorry if that sounded rough, but I'm the oldest of a large family, and I'm used to bossing people around. Having been a HS teacher for over 30 years didn't alter that propensity.
Take care, Bill.

Nuthin I can say to you better than what Margaret has said, except, yes you have lost some very important things that DID define your life and who you WERE, but concentrate on all that you have gained in this process.

Just sayin...

Dear Bill,
Sorry again. Sometimes it's hard to get one's feelings across in words. I hope that your day has improved.

If not, check out Becks' tinyurls. :)

Becks, you're great at cheering people up, you are.

Thanks for the kind words Margaret and Becks.

Sorry I haven't been "on" in the past couple of days, but I haven't even wanted to check e-mails.

Basically just been sleeping and eating a little when I felt like it.

NEVER been this down before.

Thanks

B
